Kaitlyn Byrd has a passion for vocal and theatrical performance that ranges from Shakespeare to musical theater to opera. A school librarian’s annual Broadway Revue sparked her interest in the arts and she has been on stage ever since. Select credits include: Oklahoma! (Laurey), Jekyll and Hyde (Emma), Cabaret (Sally), Assassins (Squeaky Fromme), The Taming of the Shrew (Katherine), The Music Man (Marian), Once Upon a Mattress (Lady Larkin), & Godspell (Joanne). Her performance venues have ranged from Lincoln Center to intimate dinner parties for celebrities including Condoleezza Rice. Kaitlyn is a three-time finalist and the 2016 Grand Prize Winner of McCallum Theatre’s Open Call. She has been awarded by the Desert Theater League, the LA Spotlight Awards, and by the State of California as a recipient of the Governor’s Medallion of the Arts. Kaitlyn earned a degree in Vocal Performance from Washington & Lee University in Virginia and has studied with Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Janet Hopkins; for the past six years, she has grown her private studio and is passionate about sharing her experience with other singers.
